We specialize in building the same home American styles that builders have built for the last 150 years. From, Cape Cod, to Bungalow, Four Square, Colonial, and Victorian styles, we believe that these styles carry themselves with a timeless charm. They are also the same styles that already populate our local neighborhoods and would look right at home. Below are not homes that we have built but are examples of the styles that we love.
Why We Specialize in Building on Existing In-Town Lots
There's a couple of reasons why we are deciding to specialize in building in towns. We are aware that larger, more profitable homes are often built a bit outside of town; close enough to drive, but far enough to put some distance between yourself and the problems of the local community. Instead of trying to avoid the problems of small towns, we aim to rectify them. Several years ago, we would have said we wanted 50 acres and not another house in eyesight, but since building our home in the heart of Pomeroy, we have found that it's great living in-town; even with the crumbling sidewalks and abandoned properties. In the 50s and 60s, many families left small towns in favor of the suburbs, but we are seeing that many suburbs are becoming too expensive relative to the opportunities that they offer. On top of affordability concerns, there is a growing group of people who prefer a more walkable community. Our small towns grew during a time before the car while suburbs build around the car, meaning that small towns are in a great position to win over this crowd. In summary, we love our spot in Pomeroy, and we believe that others will too.
